====Active Elements==== Depending on your ARDI license, you may be limited to the number of active elements you can have in your [[ARDI Database]] at any one time. The active element count can be slightly confusing. To determine the number of active elements you're using, you need to count two things - Active Assets and Active Links. Firstly, count all of the links you have to live data. For every asset [[properties|property]] that is connected to live //or//historical data, add one to your 'links' total. Secondly, count all of your assets that have properties (such as measurements, statuses, media or text). These add one to your 'assets' total. Your total number of active elements is the higher of the two values. ===Example=== Our system contains three assets. In the Location hierarchy, we have 'Headquarters', with 'Lunch Room' below that, and 'Refrigerator' below that. The refrigerator is connected to two pieces of information - //running// and //temperature//, both of which are connected to live data and history. Our **Active Asset Count** is only **1** - we only have a single asset that has any properties, the refrigerator. Our **Active Link Count** is **2** - we have both 'running' and 'temperature' connected to data. We divide the **link count** by 10 - an ARDI license gives you ten links per asset (you can have many more than this, but for //licensing// purposes, ten links is worth one asset) . This gives a total of **0.2** The total number of active elements in our ARDI database is 1 - which is the larger of the two numbers. ===Checking your Active Element Count=== You can check your active element count in the [[License Information Page|license information]] page.
